Chinese Arts Centre - Support Schemes
EAST (East Asian Strategic Training)

Chinese Arts Centre & Arts Council England have developed a scheme to survey the East Asian arts sector and find out their needs and future aspirations by developing practical and supportive relationships with East Asian artists and arts organisations based in London. If you are a London-based East Asian artist and would like to get involved with an exciting development scheme then we would love to hear from you!. Arts Council England anticipates that the pilot project will develop into a programme of opportunities that will help support a vibrant East Asian arts sector long into the future.
If artists or arts organisations would like more information, to subscribe to the artist database, or to get involved with the scheme they should contact: artists@chinese-arts-centre.org

PAD - Professional Artist Development
PAD Scheme is an exciting new programme supported by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation that aims to provide Chinese artists, working in various artforms with a programme of professional development to strengthen their artistic practice and career.
Talent Scouts throughout the UK will be assisting us with our nationwide search for new or emerging Chinese artists who live or work in the UK.
The PAD Scheme will offer artists a wide range of opportunities and training, such as career advice, artist surgeries, portfolio sessions, mentoring, advice on writing fundraising applications, putting together a proposal, marketing, selling your work and how to exhibit nationally and internationally.
The culmination of the project will be a touring exhibition, profiling best of the UK's emerging Chinese artists.
Why is the PAD Scheme important?
Chinese Arts Centre wants to make a difference to the artistic landscape of Britain. Over the next five years, we want there to be a fleet of artists of Chinese descent who have the artistic skills and the practical abilities to be shown in various reputable and high profile galleries across the UK. We also want to create a band of curators, arts managers, funders and arts administrators who are passionate about working with Chinese artists and who understand the sensitivities around cultural diversity. This is a big aim. However, we believe it is possible.
The scheme is open to new and emerging Chinese artists living or working in the UK.
Have you recently graduated? Are you looking for artistic support or advice? Are you a new or emerging artist and needing training? Do you feel you have hit a glass ceiling? Do you think it would be valuable having a mentor? Are you an artist needing to develop your ideas or direction? Would you benefit from having a portfolio session with an established artist or art professional?
Make it happen!
